Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 9/22-9/26 and the schedule for the week of 9/29.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on 16th Street up to Crislip Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services on Williams Avenue from 16th Street to 17th Street and started new service installs on 16th Street from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue. The new main water line was started on Franklin Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from Crislip Avenue towards NVAC Park and continue the new water line on Franklin Avenue between 14th and 16th Streets. The contractor will also be installing new meter services on West Virginia Avenue starting at 17th Street and working towards 13th Street this week. A temporary detour will be in place while the work is completed on West Virginia Avenue, detour signs will be in place.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed from Pride Avenue to Franklin Avenue this week. Franklin Avenue will be closed from 14th Street to 16th Street. West Virginia Avenue will be closed with detours in place this week.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed new meter services along Magnolia Avenue this week. The new main water line on Hartland Avenue was completed to Milford Street this week. The new main water line was started on Charter Street and South Alexander Avenue. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue and the new main water line on South Alexander Avenue and Charter Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have South Alexander Avenue closed from Milford Street to Charter Street and Charter Street closed from Hartland Avenue to South Alexander Avenue this coming week.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though South Alexander Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Hartland Avenue. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new customer services along Kramer Drive. The schedule for the upcoming week is to start concrete curb and trench repairs.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made main line tie ins at Monticello/Main Street and Carr Street/Main Street this week. Some of the trenches along East Main Street were also repaired this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to start new customer services along East Main Street and make the tie in at Elm Street.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid.
For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Chestnut Street to 6th Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the Wye to Sumner Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street. Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonalds.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
