Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 9/29-10/3 and the schedule for the week of 10/6.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on 16th Street up to Franklin Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services on West Virginia Avenue from 16th Street to 17th Street. The new main water line was completed on Franklin Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from Franklin Avenue towards NVAC Park and start the new water line on 18th Street between Henderson Avenue and Richards Avenue. The contractor will also be installing new meter services on West Virginia Avenue starting at 15th Street and working towards 13th Street this week. A temporary detour will be in place while the work is completed on West Virginia Avenue, detour signs will be in place.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed from Franklin Avenue to Richards Avenue this week. 18th Street will be closed from Henderson Avenue to Richards Avenue and West Virginia Avenue will be closed with detours in place this week.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed new meter services along Magnolia Avenue this week and started paving the gravel trench. The new main water line on South Alexander Avenue was completed to Musgrave Street this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue and the new main water line on South Alexander Avenue to Milford Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have South Alexander Avenue closed from Milford Street to Charter Street and Magnolia Avenue closed from Reynolds Street to Traction Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though South Alexander Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Hartland Avenue. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor worked on paving the trenches along Kramer Drive this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue paving the trenches.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made customer service connections along East Main Street and started the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue new customer services along East Main Street and continue the sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Chestnut Street to 6th Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Chestnut Street to 6th Street. Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sumner Street.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
