Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 10/20-10/24 and the schedule for the week of 10/27.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main line on 16th and 18th Streets and will begin installing new meter services and testing those lines this week. The new main water line tie in and services on 13th Street were completed this week. When the concrete sidewalk repairs are completed on West Virginia Avenue and 13th Street, the trenches will be repaired with concrete. The new meter services on Pride Avenue between 12th and 14th Streets will start this week. The contractor will continue repairing sidewalks and trenches in the coming weeks.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th and 18th Streets closed in sections from Hamill Avenue to Rose Avenue and Pride Avenue closed from 12th Street to 14th Street.
Fire and EMS access to 16th and 18th Streets will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor completed the main line tie in on Milford Street at Liberty Avenue this week. The new meter service connections along Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue were worked on this week and will continue through next week. The new main water line on Temple Terrace will continue this week.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have sections of Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue closed this week. Temple Terrace will be closed; local traffic only.
Fire and EMS service access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected. The Temple Terrace area will have restricted access. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor worked on making concrete repairs along Kramer Drive and Hayes Street this week. The old 24” main water line above Ryan Road was taken out of service this week and a new 24” line was installed. The schedule for the upcoming week is to complete the main line tie ins in the Chestnut Hills area, this will result in temporary water outages this week Monday-Wednesday.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Hayes Street closed from Chestnut Street to Ryan Road and Kramer Drive closed on the Hayes Street end, but it will be accessible from the other end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made customer service connections along East Main Street this week and continued the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to tie in the new 16” main water line at Elm Street and continue the sidewalk repairs along East Pike and East Main Streets.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Oak Street to Elm Street this coming week. East Main Street will be one lane from Wood Street to Marshall Street.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street.
For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system on West Pike from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.
Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
