Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 10/27-10/31 and the schedule for the week of 11/3.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new water main tie in and customer services on 13th Street from Goff Avenue to George Avenue this week. The new 2” water line was laid on Nulter Alley and will be tied in on Monday. The contractor continued making concrete sidewalk and road repairs this week and will continue that next week on West Virginia Avenue and Pride Avenue. The new customer meter services were started on 16th Street at Hamill Avenue and will continue next week.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed in sections from Hamill Avenue to Rose Avenue, Pride Avenue closed from 12th Street to 14th Street and West Virginia Avenue closed one block at a time from 14th Street to 16th Street with a detour in place Monday-Thursday.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street and West Virginia Avenue will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor worked on new meter service connections along Liberty Avenue this week and will finish next week on Liberty Avenue and move to Magnolia Avenue. The new main water line on Temple Terrace was worked on this week and will be completed next week. The contractor will start the new main line on Waverly Way from Temple Terrace to Milford Street and begin on Rodney Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have sections of Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue closed this week. Temple Terrace will be closed to local traffic only and Waverly Way will be one lane.
Fire and EMS access to Lower Hartland area should not be affected. The Temple Terrace area will have restricted access. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the tie ins for the new 24” main water line on Hayes Street. The contractor will work next week finishing the project and is scheduling the paving for this fall.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
Fire and EMS access will not be restricted this coming week.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made the tie in for the new 16” water main at East Main Street and Elm Street this week and continued the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Main Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue sidewalk repairs along East Main Street and complete the customer meter services on East Main Street from Oak Street to Elm Street.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Oak Street to Elm Street this coming week. East Main Street will be one lane from Wood Street to Marshall Street.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system on West Pike from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street and on West Main Street from Chestnut Street to 6th Street.
West Pike Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street and West Main Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to 6th Street.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
