Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 5/19 – 5/23 and the schedule for the week of 5/26.
NORTH VIEW AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor continued installing new water line on North Ohio Avenue to the entrance of the Harrison County Emergency Squad, where they are preparing to tie into the existing water line next week. Work will continue on the new water line up WV Ave towards 15th street this coming week. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during this phase of the work and flaggers will be in place to control traffic.
Access to the Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County Emergency Squad, North Ohio Ave, 12th, 13th and 14th Streets will be maintained and controlled by the flaggers onsite.
HARTLAND/STEALEY AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor finished installing the new 6” water line along lower Hartland Avenue and tied into the existing line. The work on Verdun Street continued with new water line and services installed this week. The new line that has been installed from Hartland Avenue back down Verdun Street past Alexander has been pressure tested and once disinfection is completed, the new customer services will begin. The work schedule for the upcoming week is to continue installing the new 6” water line on Magnolia Avenue and install customer services.
Fire and EMS service to the Verdun Street area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
ARMORY ROAD - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has moved on to another project until the materials for the Chestnut Hills portion of the project arrive. It is anticipated that the materials will arrive sometime in late August to early September.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued installing the new customer service connections along East Pike Street from Charleston Avenue to Linden Avenue. Also, this week the permanent trench repairs were made in the areas where the new services were installed. The work schedule for next week will be to continue with customer service connections along East Pike Street from Linden Avenue towards Monticello Avenue.
Fire and EMS service to the streets off East Pike Street could be affected this coming week. Only one street at a time will be impacted and flaggers will be on site to help with rerouting service.
DOWNTOWN AREA (NEAR WENDY'S) - CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system from O’Reilly Auto Parts towards McDonalds this week. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Pike Street in that same area.
Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike Street should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
