Project Updates - March 27

NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the installation of the new main water line on Hamill Avenue to 23rd Street, on Williams Avenue to 24th Street, and on 21st Street from Hamill Avenue to Williams Avenue. Service connections have also been installed on Hamill Avenue. Trench paving was finished on Hamill Avenue, Williams Avenue, 20th Street, the alley between 16th and 17th Streets, and on 13th Street from the bridge to WV Avenue.

Next week’s schedule:

Continue installing the main water line on Williams Avenue toward 25th Street and on 21st Street from Williams Avenue to WV Avenue.

Install customer service connections on Hamill Avenue from 20th to 23rd Street and on 21st Street from Hamill Avenue to Williams Avenue.

Begin street paving on 14th Street, Williams Avenue off 14th, and Franklin Avenue.

Parking and Closures:

NO PARKING signs will be posted in active work zones. Please find alternate parking during posted working hours. Vehicles parked in work zones will be towed to a safe location if the owner cannot be located. If you need driveway access, please speak with the onsite contractor.

Hamill Avenue will be closed from 22nd to 23rd Street.

Williams Avenue will be closed from 24th to 25th Street.

21st Street will be closed from Williams Avenue to WV Avenue.

Sections of 14th Street will be closed for street paving.

Detour and road closure signs will be posted.

Fire and EMS access in North View will remain unaffected.

HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

Work continued on the main water line along Woodland Avenue toward the dead end and on Hall Street from Duff Avenue to Nicholas Street. The new main was tied into John Avenue and Ryder Avenue. Asphalt trench repairs were completed on Temple Terrace, Ryder Avenue, and Coolidge Street, and concrete sidewalk repairs are ongoing throughout the area.

Next week’s schedule:

Continue main line installation on Woodland Avenue to the dead end.

Complete Hall Street to Nicholas Street and continue toward Milford Street.

Continue new service connections on Euclid Avenue and in the alley between Euclid Avenue and Coolidge Street.

Ongoing concrete repairs and yard restoration.

Parking and Closures:

NO PARKING signs will be posted in active work areas. Vehicles parked in work zones will be towed to a safe location if the owner cannot be located. If you need driveway access, please speak with the onsite contractor.

Woodland Avenue will be closed from Joseph Street to the dead end.

Hall Street will be closed from Duff Avenue to Nicholas Street.

Euclid Avenue will be closed from Milford Street to Nicholas Street, except for school buses and local residents.

Fire and EMS access around Stealey Park will not be affected. Flaggers will manage local traffic..

CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

All main water line and service installations are complete. Asphalt patching is finished. Final milling and paving are scheduled for the spring, pending favorable weather.

DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

Tie-ins between the new and existing main water lines were completed at Chestnut Street and Main Street, Chestnut Street and Dale Avenue, and Chestnut Street and Washington Avenue. Temporary trench repairs with asphalt or concrete were completed and will continue next week. Paving was finished on Chestnut Street (from Main Street to Washington Avenue), Monticello Avenue, 2nd Street, and 6th Street (between Main Street and Pike Street).

Next week’s schedule:

Complete tie-ins at Chestnut Street and Washington Avenue (scheduled for Monday-Wednesday). This will require a service interruption; customers will be notified by the CWB.

Continue work on 3rd Street, starting at Main Street, beginning Wednesday.

Closures:

The intersection of Washington Avenue and Chestnut Street will be closed Monday-Wednesday. Detours and flaggers will be in place.

3rd Street will be closed from Main Street to Traders Alley starting Wednesday.

Fire and EMS access will not be affected; flaggers will direct traffic.

DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

New storm inlets were completed on Chestnut Street and West Main Street. Work began on storm inlets on West Pike Street from Chestnut Street to the Wye.

Next week’s schedule:

Continue storm inlet work on West Main Street.

Continue sanitary line work on Sumner Street.

Closures:

West Pike Street will be reduced to one lane from Chestnut Street to the Wye.

Sumner Street will be closed from Main Street to Pike Street.

Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets will not be affected, though expect occasional traffic congestion.
