Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the update for the week of 2/2 and schedule for the week of 2/9-2/13.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor did not work this week, but will start back next week. The contractor will continue installing the new main water line on Hamill Avenue and Goff Avenue from 17th Street to 20th Street. New customer services on Goff Avenue and Hamill Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets will continue, with customers being hooked to the new line in the next few weeks.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Hamill and Goff Avenues will be closed from 17th-18th Streets next week.


Fire and EMS service in North View should not be affected next week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor worked on installing new meter settings on Waverly Way this week and started main line tie ins on Temple Terrace. The new main water line was continued on Euclid Avenue towards Nicholas Street this week. The schedule for next week is to test the new main line on Waverly Way and Rodney Street and begin customer service connections. The contractor will continue with the new main line on Euclid Avenue next week.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Waverly Way between Milford Street and Temple Terrace will be one lane for testing and service connections next week. Euclid Avenue will be closed except for School Buses and residents.


Fire and EMS service to the Stealey area around the park should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor installed the new main water line on West Pike Street up to Chestnut Street and will work night shift next week to get through the Pike Street/Chestnut Street intersection. The contractor has a second crew working on West Main Street from the Wye towards Chestnut Street installing the new main water line and that will continue through next week. The customer service connections and main line tie ins were completed this week from the triangle at Wendy’s to the Wye.


West Main Street will be one lane from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street next week. The intersection of West Pike Street and Chestnut Street will be closed from 6 P.M. to 6 A.M. Monday – Thursday next week, flaggers and detour will be in place.


Fire and EMS service should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers..


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor completed the new storm water inlet work at Ferry Street and at the intersection of 6th/Main Street this week. The new storm inlets between Wendy’s and the Wye were started this week and will continue next week.


West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Subway to the Wye. West Main Street will be one lane from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street.


Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
