Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the update for the week of 2/16 and schedule for the week of 2/23-2/27.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor continued installing the new main water line on Hamill Avenue from 19th Street to 20th Street and on 19th Street from Hamill Avenue towards Williams Avenue. New customer services on Goff Avenue and Hamill Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets were installed. Main line tie ins were completed at 17th and Pride Avenue and 17th and Goff Avenue.


The schedule for next week is to make a main line tie in at 18th and Hamill Avenue and continue customer services on Hamill Avenue, West Virginia Avenue, and 17th Street. The new main water line installation will continue on 19th Street to Williams Avenue and possibly start on Williams Avenue from 19th to 17th Street.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Hamill Avenue will be closed from 17th to 19th on Tuesday, February 24th. 19th Street will be closed from Hamill Avenue to Williams Avenue intersection.


Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor completed the main line tie in on Temple Terrace at Ryder Avenue. The new main water line was completed on Euclid Avenue towards Woodland Avenue and Coolidge Street towards Simpson Avenue this week. The new main waterline was continued in the Alley off Euclid Avenue towards Coolidge Street and on Ash Avenue from Coolidge Street towards Woodland Avenue.


The schedule for next week is to complete the new main line in the Alley off Euclid Avenue, Ash Avenue towards Woodland Avenue and begin laying new main line on Woodland Avenue from Coolidge Street towards Joseph Street, and Joseph Street towards Simpson Street.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Temple Terrace will be one lane for testing and service connections next week. Woodland Avenue will be closed from Coolidge Street to Joseph Street except for school buses and residents.


Fire and EMS access to the Stealey area around the park should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor completed the new main water line on West Pike Street to 6th Street and on West Main Street from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street and started laying on Chestnut Street to Washington Avenue.


The schedule for next week is to continue on Chestnut Street to Washington Avenue and begin laying main line on Chestnut Street between Pike Street and Main Street.

Chestnut Street will be one lane from West Pike Street to Washington Avenue this week.


Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The new storm inlets at the triangle by Wendy’s were completed this week and will continue next week in the area of Wendy’s and Subway on West Pike Street.


West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Wendy’s to McDonalds.


Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
