Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the schedule for the week of 12/15 and the update for the week of 12/8-12/12.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor made asphalt trench repairs on Williams Avenue, N 16th Street and N 15th Street this week. The trench repairs will continue this week on 16th Street. The customer service connections were completed on the 16th Street side of Richards Avenue, Pearlman Avenue, and Henderson Avenue this week, and the service connections on the 18th Street side will begin next week. The new main water line tie ins off 16th Street were completed this week. The new main water line on Pride Avenue and Barnes Avenue between 16th Street and 17th Street will begin next week. The contractor will continue making concrete sidewalk repairs this week.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
North 16th Street will be closed in sections for paving this week from Monday-Thursday. Barnes Avenue and Pride Avenue between 16th Street and 17th Street will have limited access this week. 18th Street between Henderson Avenue and Pearlman Avenue will also be closed in sections.
Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued making concrete repairs this week in the Hartland area and those will continue next week. The new customer service connections on upper Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and upper South Alexander Avenue were completed this week. The contractor completed the directional bore portion of the new water line in the easement area between the houses on Johns Avenue and Ryder Avenue this week and the new main water line excavation will continue there next week. This week the contractor will begin installing new customer services on Temple Terrace and Rodney Street. Temporary asphalt trench repairs will also be ongoing this week in the areas where the new main water line has been installed.

The contractor will have sections of upper Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and South Alexander Avenue closed this week for trench repairs. Temple Terrace and Rodney Street will be one lane during customer service installations.
Fire and EMS access to upper Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor completed the new main water line in Traders Alley between 2nd Street and 3rd Street this week. The new main water line was tied in at the intersection of 2nd Street and Main Street this week. The new water line installation started on West Pike Street at the intersection by Wendy’s this week and will continue towards the Wye in the coming weeks.
The area near Wendy’s and Subway will be one lane this week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor will continue with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue this week. The storm inlets on West Pike Street will begin to be installed next week.
Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Avenue, 7 AM to 5 PM daily. West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Wendy’s to the Wye, from Monday-Friday.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
