Project Updates - December 1

Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:

This is the schedule for the week of 12/1.

NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor will continue making concrete sidewalk repairs this week. The contractor’s asphalt crew will be begin milling and paving the trench on West Virginia Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street this week. Customer service connections will continue on 16th Street, Richards Avenue and Nutler Alley.

NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.

West Virginia Avenue will be one lane or closed for paving from 14th Street to 16th Street this week Monday-Thursday.

Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.

HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor will be working in the upper Hartland area on customer service connections and concrete repairs this week, this will impact Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and upper South Alexander Avenue.

NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.

The contractor will have sections of Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and South Alexander Avenue closed this week.

Fire and EMS access to the upper Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.

CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.

DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor will be working in Traders Alley from 2nd Street to 3rd Street and start installing new main water line on 3rd Street from Main Street to Pike Street this week.

The contractor will have Traders Alley from 2nd Street to 3rd Street closed and 3rd Street closed from Main Street to Traders Alley.

Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor will continue with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue this week. The storm inlets on West Pike Street will begin to be installed next week.

Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Ave, 7 AM to 5 PM daily. West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Wendy’s to the Wye, Monday-Friday.

Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
