Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 9/1-9/6 and the schedule for the week of 9/8.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on Williams Avenue from 17th Street to 16th Street and started installing the new line on 16th Street from West Virginia Avenue towards Hamill Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to West Virginia Avenue and is working on the new services on 15th Street up to George Avenue. The asphalt trench repairs were completed on 15th Street from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue. The contractor will continue installing new meter services along 15th Street to George Avenue. The new main water line will be started on Crislip Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Williams Avenue closed from 17th Street to 16th Street and 16th Street closed from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue. New meter services will be installed on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to George Avenue and that section of 15th Street will be closed. Crislip Avenue will be closed from 14th Street to 16th Street.
Fire and EMS access to 16th and 15th Streets will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor finished installing the new main water line on Liberty Avenue and concreting the trench along Riverside Drive this week. New meter services along Liberty Avenue were also installed. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue and to start the new main water line on Hartland Avenue from the Traction Street Bridge to Milford Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Liberty Avenue restricted to one lane or closed at times from Traction Street to Riverside Drive, Magnolia Avenue will be closed from Milford Street to Reynolds Street and Hartland Avenue will be one lane from Milford Street to Verdun Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though Liberty Avenue will be one lane between Reynolds Street and Riverside Drive. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new 24” main water line on Kramer Drive and started laying the new 24” water line up to Ryan Road. The schedule for the upcoming week is to tie in the new 24” main line on Kramer Drive and test the new main water line on Kramer Drive.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed at the Chestnut Street end on Tuesday, but it will be accessible from the Hayes Street end. Residents will need to use an alternate route.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from the North end off Chestnut Street.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made main line tie ins at Monticello Avenue and Main Street and South Maple Avenue and Main Street this week. The contractor will complete the customer service connections on East Main Street this coming week and make the main line connections at the intersection of Marshall Street and East Main Street. The work at Marshall and East Main Street will take place from 6 PM and 6 AM, flaggers will be in place.
The contractor will have East Main Street from Harrison Street to Marshall Street reduced to one lane this coming week and the intersection of Marshall and East Main Street will be one lane from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Sumner Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the Wye to Sumner Street. West Main Street will remain one lane from Ferry Street to Chestnut Street, Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike Street will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonalds.
Fire and EMS access to the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
