Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 9/8-9/12 and the schedule for the week of 9/15.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on 16th Street from Williams Avenue to Goff Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to Goerge Avenue and was working on the main line tie ins along 14th Street. The asphalt trench repairs were completed on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to Goff Avenue. The new main water line was installed on Crislip Avenue from 14th to 16th Street. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from Goff Avenue to Crislip Avenue and start the new water line on Gould Avenue between 14th and 16th Streets.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed from Hamill Avenue to Crislip Avenue this week. Gould Avenue will be closed from 14th Street to 16th Street.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed new meter services along Magnolia Avenue this week. The new main water line on Hartland Avenue above the bridge was started this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue and the new main water line on Hartland Avenue will continue from Charter Street to Milford Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Hartland Avenue closed from Verdun Street to Milford Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access to Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though Hartland Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Verdun Street. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new 24” main water line on the right of way above Kramer Drive and tied it into the existing 16” line from Chestnut Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to test the new line on Kramer Drive and install customer service lines.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made main line tie ins at Marshall Street and East Main Street intersection this week. They will complete the customer service lines on East Main Street this week and make the main line connections at the intersection of Marshall Street and East Main Street Monday night. The work at Marshall and East Main Street will take place from 6 PM to 6 AM, flaggers will be in place. The main line tie ins from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street will be started this week.
The contractor will have the Marshall and East Main Street intersection one lane from 6 PM to 6 AM on Monday night. East Main Street will be one lane from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Sumner Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the Wye to Sumner Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Ferry Street to Chestnut Street, Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonalds.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
