Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 8/25– 8/29 and the schedule for the week of 9/1.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on 17th Street from West Virginia Avenue to Williams Avenue and started installing the new line on Williams Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services along 14th Street and started installing new meter services on 15th Street from Hamill Avenue to West Virginia Avenue. The new main water line on 13th Street between George Avenue and Goff Avenue was installed. The asphalt trench repairs were completed on 14th Street, except for the intersections where future tie ins will be made. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on Williams Avenue to 16th Street and 16th Street from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue. The contractor will continue installing new meter services along 15th Street and Hamill Avenue.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Williams Avenue closed from 17th Street to 16th Street on Tuesday and 16th Street will be closed from West Virginia Avenue to Hamill Avenue from Wednesday to Friday. New meter services will be installed on 15th Street from
West Virginia Avenue to George Avenue and sections of 15th Street will be closed.
Fire and EMS access to 16th and 15th Streets will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued installing the new main water line on Liberty Avenue and concreting the trench along Riverside Drive this week. New meter services along Magnolia Avenue were also installed. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and to continue the new main water line on Liberty Avenue from Traction Street to Riverside Drive.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Liberty Avenue restricted to one lane or closed at times from Traction Street to Riverside Drive, except for local residents, this coming week from 7 AM to 6 PM. Manolia Avenue will be closed from Milford Street to Reynolds Street from Tuesday to Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though Liberty Avenue will be one lane between Reynolds Street and Riverside Drive. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the new 24” main water line on Kramer Drive. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue the new 24” main line on Kramer Drive.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed in the middle, but it will be accessible from both ends, Monday to Thursday during working hours. Residents will need to use an alternate route.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from the North end off Chestnut Street.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor will complete the customer services on East Main Street this week and start on the Main Line tie ins along East Main Street from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street.
The contractor will have East Main Street from Harrison Street to Marshall Street reduced to one lane this week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Sumner Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the Wye to Sumner Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Ferry Street to Chestnut Street, Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonalds.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
