Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the update for the week of 10/13-10/17 and the schedule for the week of 10/20.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING


The contractor has completed the new main line on 16th and 18th Streets up to Rose Avenue and will finish those main lines this week. The contractor completed the new meter services on West Virginia Avenue from 12th Street to 14th Street and will soon start the permanent trench repairs on West Virginia Avenue. The contractor will also be installing new meter services on the streets where the new main water line is completed. After those services are installed the gravel trenches will be patched with asphalt.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


The contractor will have 16th and 18th Streets closed from Pearlman Avenue to the end this week. Detour signs will be in place along 16th and 18th Streets and West Virginia Avenue will be one lane with flaggers in place this week.


Fire and EMS access to 16th and 18th Streets will be restricted this coming week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor has been making trench repairs on South Alexander Avenue from Milford Street to Charter Street this week and installed new meter services. The trenches along Liberty Avenue were patched with asphalt this week and the contractor will begin making customer service connections this coming week. The new main water line on Temple Terrace was continued this week and customer services will start next week. A main line tie in is scheduled to be completed this week at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Milford Street, delays and water interruptions should be expected.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


The contractor will have Liberty Avenue closed in areas from Reynolds Street to Traction Street this coming week. The Temple Terrace area will be restricted to local traffic only and emergency vehicles. The intersection of Liberty Avenue and Milford Street will be one lane with flaggers Monday-Wednesday.


Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected. The Temple Terrace area will have restricted access. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor worked on paving the trenches and making concrete repairs along Kramer Drive and Hayes Street this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to complete the main line tie ins in the Chestnut Hills area, this will result in temporary water outages this week Monday-Thursday.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.


Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor made customer service connections along East Main Street this week and continued the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue new customer services along East Main Street and continue the sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street.


The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street this coming week. East Pike Street will be one lane from Linden Avenue to South Maple Street.


Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from South Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue and on West Pike from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.


South Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue will be one lane or closed at times Monday-Friday, Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.


Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
