Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 10/6-10/10 and the schedule for the week of 10/13.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main line on 16th and 18th Streets up to Richards Avenue. The contractor completed the new meter services on West Virginia Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street. The concrete sidewalk repairs along 14th Street have begun and will continue next week. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from Richards Avenue towards NVAC Park and on 18th Street to Pearlman Avenue. The contractor will also be installing new meter services on West Virginia Avenue from 12th to 14th Street and completing the new water main tie in on 13th Street this week.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th and 18th Streets closed from Richards Avenue to Pearlman Avenue this week. Detour signs will be in place along 16th and 18th Streets and West Virginia Avenue will be one lane with flaggers in place this week.
Fire and EMS access to 16th and 18th Streets will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor finished installing the new main water line on South Alexander Avenue from Milford Street to Charter Street this week and installed new meter services. The trenches along Hartland Avenue were patched with asphalt this week and the contractor will continue patching on Charter Street and South Alexander Avenue this coming week. The new main water line on Temple Terrace was started this week also. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue and continue the new main water line on Temple Terrace.

If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have South Alexander Avenue closed from Milford Street to Charter Street and Magnolia Avenue closed from Reynolds Street to Traction Street this coming week. The Temple Terrace area will be restricted to local traffic only and emergency vehicles.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though South Alexander Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Hartland Avenue. The Temple Terrace area will have restricted access. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor worked on paving the trenches along Kramer Drive and Hayes Street this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to work on concrete repairs along Kramer Drive.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made customer service connections along East Main Street and continued the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue new customer services along East Main Street and continue the sidewalk repairs along East Pike Street. The contractor will also be working on 2nd Street from West Pike Street to West Main Street.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Monticello Avenue to Elm Street this coming week. East Pike Street will be one lane from Linden Avenue to South Maple Street. One lane of 2nd Street will be closed from West Pike Street to West Main Street.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Chestnut Street to 6th Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Chestnut Street to 6th Street, Sumner Street will remain closed, and West Pike will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
