Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 11/17-11/21 and the schedule for the week of 11/24.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor continued making concrete sidewalk repairs this week. The new customer meter services were continued on 16th Street, Crislip Avenue, Pride Avenue, Franklin Avenue, Richards Avenue, Pearlman Avenue, and 18th Street. The contractor’s asphalt crew started making trench repairs this week. No work will take place next week, the following week crews will continue with customer service connections and trench repairs.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor has completed the new meter service connections along Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue this week. The concrete crew has been replacing curbs, sidewalks, and driveways that were damaged during construction; that will continue the week after Thanksgiving. The contractor’s paving crew has completed the paving on Verdun Street, Lower South Alexander, Lower Hartland Avenue, and Magnolia Avenue this week and will continue paving next week Monday-Wednesday, please keep vehicles out of the NO PARKING areas.

The contractor will have sections of Liberty Avenue closed next week for paving.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued concrete sidewalk repairs and completed the asphalt trench repairs along East Main Street. The contractor completed the tie ins on the new main water line at West Main Street and EB Saunders Way this week and resumed installing the new main water line on 2nd Street from West Pike Street to Traders Alley. The schedule for next week is to work in Traders Alley from 2nd to 3rd Street and start installing new main water line on 3rd Street from Main Street to Pike Street.
The contractor will have Traders Alley from 2nd Street to 3rd Street closed and 3rd Street closed from Main Street to Traders Alley.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along Chestnut Street and West Pike Street. The new lines on West Pike Street have been completed up to Chestnut Street. The schedule for next week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system on Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue, and Chestnut Street will remain closed 24 hours a day from Dale Avenue to Washington Avenue on Monday and Tuesday. Detours will be in place. The storm inlets on West Pike Street starting at Wendy’s will begin to be installed next week.
Chestnut Street will be closed from Dale Avenue to Washington Avenue on Monday and Tuesday; detours will be setup. Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Avenue from 7 AM to 5 PM daily. West Pike Street will be one lane in the area near Wendy’s from Monday-Wednesday.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
