Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the update for the week of 11/10-11/14 and the schedule for the week of 11/17.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor tied in the new 2” water line for Nulter Alley at 18th Street this week. The contractor continued making concrete sidewalk and road repairs this week and will continue that next week on the streets where the customer services have been completed. The new customer meter services were started on 16th Street, Crislip Avenue, Pride Avenue, and Franklin Avenue. The schedule for this week is to complete the services on the streets that were started last week and start on Gould Avenue and Nutler Alley.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.

The contractor will have 16th Street closed in sections from Hamill Avenue to Rose Avenue, Pride Avenue closed from 12th Street to 14th Street, Gould Avenue and Franklin Avenue closed from 14th Street to 16th Street.


Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.The contractor continued making concrete sidewalk repairs this week and will continue that next week on the streets where the customer services have been completed. The new customer meter services were started on 16th Street, Crislip Avenue, Pride Avenue, and Franklin Avenue. The schedule for this week is to complete the services on the streets that were started last week and start on Gould Avenue and Nutler Alley. The existing main water line on West Virginia Avenue will be taken out of service this week to eliminate the leaking valves along 14th Street. This will require West Virginia Avenue to be closed from 16th Street to 17th Street on Monday and Tuesday.

The contractor will have 16th Street closed in sections from Hamill Avenue to Rose Avenue, Pride Avenue closed from 12th to 14th Street, Gould Avenue and Franklin Avenue closed from 16th Street to 18th Street. Pearlman Avenue and Richards Avenue will be closed in sections for customer service installations. West Virginia Avenue will be closed from 16th Street to 17th Street on Monday and Tuesday.


Fire and EMS access to 16th and 18th Streets will be restricted this coming week. West Virginia Avenue will be closed from 16th Street to 17th Street on Monday and Tuesday.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor worked on new meter service connections along Liberty Avenue, Magnolia Avenue, and Hartland Avenue this week; these will continue this week until completed. The street milling in preparation for paving was started this week in the Hartland area and will continue next week. Also, the paving is scheduled to begin on Tuesday on Verdun Street, South Alexander Avenue, Hartland Avenue, and Magnolia Avenue. The schedule for this week is to complete the customer services on Liberty Avenue, Magnolia Avenue, Upper Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and South Alexander Avenue. The contractor will also continue the concrete repairs.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


The contractor will have sections of Liberty Avenue, Magnolia Avenue, Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, Verdun Street, and South Alexander Avenue closed this week.


Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch on Kramer Drive and Hayes Street. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor continued concrete sidewalk repairs and completed the asphalt trench repairs along East Main Street. In order to start the new water line on West Pike Street, three new main line valves were installed on the existing main water line this week. The contractor started making tie ins on the new main water line at West Main Street and EB Saunders Way this week, that work will be completed this week and new customer services will be installed from 2nd Street to EB Saunders Way.


The contractor will have West Main Street at EB Saunders Way down to one lane and EB Saunders Way closed at West Main Street.


Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system on West Pike Street from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street and on Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue.


West Pike Street will be one lane from 6th Street to Sumner Street and Chestnut Street will be closed from West Pike Street to West Main Street from Monday to Thursday, 7 PM to 6 AM, detours will be setup. Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Avenue, 7 AM to 5 PM daily.


Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
