Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 11/3-11/7 and the schedule for the week of 11/10.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor tied in the new 2” water line for Nulter Alley at 18th Street this week. The contractor continued making concrete sidewalk and road repairs this week and will continue that next week on the streets where the customer services have been completed. The new customer meter services were started on 16th Street, Crislip Avenue, Pride Avenue, and Franklin Avenue. The schedule for this week is to complete the services on the streets that were started last week and start on Gould Avenue and Nutler Alley.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed in sections from Hamill Avenue to Rose Avenue, Pride Avenue closed from 12th Street to 14th Street, Gould Avenue and Franklin Avenue closed from 14th Street to 16th Street.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor worked on new meter service connections along Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue this week. The new main water line on Temple Terrace was completed this week and the new main water line was started on Rodney Street. The planned main line tie in at the intersection of Temple Terrace and John Street has been delayed due a leaking gas line that needs repaired. The schedule for this week is to complete the customer services on Liberty Avenue and Magnolia Avenue, start the customer services on Upper Hartland Avenue, Charter Street and South Alexander Avenue and start milling in the Hartland Area for the street paving.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have sections of Liberty Avenue, Magnolia Avenue, Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and South Alexander Avenue closed this week.
Fire and EMS access to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has finished installing the new water main line and customer services. They will return this week to complete concrete repairs and yard reclamation. If the weather allows Kramer Drive and Hayes Street will be milled and paved.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
Fire and EMS access will not be restricted this coming week.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made customer service connections on East Main Street this week and continued the concrete sidewalk repairs along East Main Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue sidewalk repairs along East Main Street and make the main line tie ins at the intersection of EB Saunders Way and West Main Street.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Wood Street to Marshall Street.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Main Street and West Pike Street.
For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system on West Pike from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street and on West Main Street from Chestnut Street to 6th Street.
West Pike Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street and West Main Street will be one lane from Chestnut Street to 6th Street.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
