Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the update for the week of 3/2 and schedule for the week of 3/9-3/13.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor completed installing the new main water line on Hamill Avenue from 20th to 21st Street, on Williams Avenue from 19th to 20th Street and installed services on 19th Street from Hamill Avenue to Williams Avenue.


The schedule for next week is to continue the new main water line on Hamill Avenue from 21st to 23rd Street and on Williams Avenue from 20th to 22nd Street. Customer services will be installed along with the new main line and connected to the customer once the lines are tested. The asphalt trench repairs with start back this week in the areas with gravel trenches.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Hamill Avenue will be closed from 21st to 23rd Street, 21st and 22nd Streets will be closed from Hamill Avenue to Williams Avenue and Williams Avenue will be closed from 20th Street to 22nd Street. Road Closed and Detour signs will be in place.


Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor continued customer service connections on Temple Terrace, Ryder and Rodney Streets; they should complete those next week. The new main waterline was completed on Woodland Avenue from Coolidge Street to Ash Avenue and customer services are being set next week.


The schedule for next week is to complete the new main line on Woodland Avenue to Joseph Street and start on Joseph Street towards Simpson Street. A new main line will also start next week on Hemsworth Way towards Pick Street. The new customer service connections will begin on Euclid Avenue, the alley off Euclid Avenue and Coolidge Street. Weather permitting the contractor will start back in the Hartland area making concrete repairs and doing yard restorations.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Woodland Avenue will be closed from Ash Avenue to Joseph Street except for School Buses and residents and Hemsworth Way will be closed from Coolidge Street to Pick Street.


Fire and EMS access to the Stealey area around the park should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed the asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor made several tie ins between the new main water line and the existing main at several side streets off of West Main and West Pike Street this week. The new main water line on Chestnut Street between Main and Pike Streets was started and will be completed next week. Several new customer services were installed on West Main and West Pike Streets this week.


The schedule for next week is to complete the new main line on Chestnut Street between Pike Street and Main Street and start in Traders Alley between Chestnut Street and 6th Street. The tie in at West Pike Street and Chestnut Street will be completed on Monday the 9th and will require a service interruption Monday evening into Tuesday morning. Customers affected by the interruption will be notified by the CWB automated phone system.


Chestnut Street will be one lane from West Pike Street to West Main Street and Traders Alley will be closed from Chestnut Street to 6th Street this week.


Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The new storm inlets on West Pike Street and West Main Street towards Chestnut Street were worked on this week and will continue next week. The new sewer laterals were completed up to Chestnut Street on Main and Pike Streets. The contractor will begin milling and paving the trenches on West Pike Street next week.


West Main and West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Wendy’s to Chestnut Street.


Fire and EMS access in the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
