Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 6/2 – 6/6 and the schedule for the week of 6/9.
NORTH VIEW AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor finished testing the new water line on North Ohio Avenue to the entrance of the Harrison County Emergency Squad and tied in the customers to the new line. The contractor also finished placing concrete in the trench on North Ohio Avenue. The new water line on WV Avenue is near the corner of 14th Street and work will continue on WV Avenue towards 15th Street this coming week. Once the line is laid to 15th street it will be tested and the new line on 14th Street will start. Traffic will be restricted to one lane on WV Avenue during this phase of the work and flaggers will be in place to control traffic.
Access to the Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County Emergency Squad, North Ohio Avenue, 12th, 13th and 14th Streets will be maintained and controlled by the flaggers onsite.
HARTLAND/STEALEY AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor has finished installing the new main water line and services on Magnolia Avenue to the corner of Traction Street. The new service connections on Riverside Drive and Bridge Street were completed this week. The work schedule for the upcoming week is to continue installing the new 6” water line on Magnolia Avenue and to start making trench repairs in the areas where the new lines have been tested.
Fire and EMS service to the Verdun Street area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
ARMORY ROAD - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has moved on to another project until the materials for the Chestnut Hills portion of the project arrive. It is anticipated that the materials will arrive sometime in late August to early September.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued installing the new customer service connections along East Pike Street and making the permanent trench repairs. The new 12” main water line on Main Street from EB Saunders Way towards 2nd Street was started and will be completed this coming week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to complete the new main line on Main Street from 2nd Street to EB Saunders Way and continuing connecting customers to the new water line on East Pike Street.
Fire and EMS service to the streets off East Pike Street could be affected this coming week. The work on Main Street will only affect one lane and no disruptions should occur. Flaggers will be on site to help with rerouting service.
DOWNTOWN AREA (NEAR WENDY'S) - CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system near McDonalds this week. A new manhole was installed on the new sewer line to eliminate the need for the by-pass pump. Also, the new 48” storm line on West Pike Street was tied into the new main outlet pipe at Wendy’s. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Pike Street from McDonald’s towards the Pike and Main Streets split.
Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike Street should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
