Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 2/9 and schedule for the week of 2/16-2/20.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor continued installing the new main water line on Hamill Avenue from 17th Street to 20th Street. New customer services on Goff Avenue and Hamill Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets were installed and the contractor began removing the old fire hydrants and gate valves. The schedule for this week is to make main line tie ins at 17th & Pride Avenue, 17th and Goff Avenue and 19th and Hamill Avenue; water disruptions can be expected. The new main water line installation will continue on Hamill Avenue and Williams Avenue to 20th Street.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
Hamill Avenue will be closed from 19th-20th Streets this week.
Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor worked on main line tie ins on Temple Terrace at the Alley and Ryder Avenue. The new main water line was continued on Euclid Avenue towards Woodland Avenue and Coolidge Street towards Simpson Avenue this past week. The new main waterline was started in the Alley off Euclid Avenue towards Coolidge Street. The schedule for this week is to continue the new main line in the Alley off Euclid Avenue, continue laying new main line out Euclid and Woodland Avenues and begin or finish installing customer services on Rodney Street, Temple Terrace, and Ryder Avenue.

Waverly Way, Rodney Street, Ryder Avenue, and Temple Terrace will be one lane for testing and service connections this week. Euclid Avenue will be closed from Coolidge Street to Woodland Avenue, except for school buses and residents.
Fire and EMS access to the Stealey area around the City Park should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed the new main water line on West Pike Street past Chestnut Street towards 6th Street and on West Main Street from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street. The customer service connections and main line tie ins were completed this past week from the Wye towards Chestnut Street on West Pike Street. The schedule for this week is to continue on West Pike Street to 6th Street and complete the West Main Street line in the intersection of Chestnut Street and start laying on Chestnut Street to Washington Avenue.
West Main Street will be one lane from Sumner Street to Chestnut Street and West Pike Street will be one lane from 6th Street to Chestnut Street this week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The new storm inlets between Wendy’s and the Wye were completed this past week and will continue this week in the area of Wendy’s and Subway on West Pike Street.
West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Subway to the Wye and 6th Street to Chestnut Street. West Main Street will be one lane at the intersection of Chestnut Street.
Fire and EMS access in the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
