Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 12/1-12/5 and the schedule for the week of 12/8.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor made asphalt trench repairs on West Virginia Avenue and started Williams Avenue. The trench repairs will continue this week on Williams Avenue and 16th Street. The customer service connections were made on Richards Avenue, Pearlman Avenue, and Henderson Avenue and those will be completed next week. The new main water line was tied into the side streets off 16th Street this week and those will be completed next week.
Temporary water interruptions should be expected and notifications have been made in the affected areas. The contractor will continue making concrete sidewalk repairs this week.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
North 16th Street will be closed in sections for paving this week from Monday-Thursday.
Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued making concrete repairs this week in the Hartland area and those will continue next week. The new customer service connections on upper Hartland Avenue were completed this week, and connections will begin on Charter Street and upper South Alexander Avenue this coming week. The new main water line will be tied in at the intersection of upper South Alexander Avenue and Musgrave Street on Monday; this will result in a temporary water outage on Monday December 8th on Musgrave Street. The contractor will begin working on a directional bore and new water line installation in the easement area between the houses on Johns Avenue and Ryder Avenue this week.

If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have sections of Hartland Avenue, Charter Street, and South Alexander Avenue closed this week.
Fire and EMS access to upper Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed the new main water line in Traders Alley between 2nd Street and 3rd Street this week and that work will continue onto 3rd Street this coming week. The new main water line will be tied in at the intersection of 2nd Street and Main Street from Monday – Wednesday this week, this will result in temporary service interruptions on those days. The new water line installation will begin on West Pike Street at the intersection by Wendy’s this week and continue towards the Wye in the coming weeks.
The contractor will have the intersection of 2nd Street and Main Street down to one lane from Monday-Wednesday. The area near Wendy’s and Subway will be one lane this week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor will continue with the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue this week. The storm inlets on West Pike Street will begin to be installed next week.
Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Avenue from
7 AM to 5 PM daily. West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from Wendy’s to the Wye from Monday-Friday.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
