Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:


This is the schedule for the week of 12/22 and the update for the week of 12/15-12/19.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor made asphalt trench repairs on North 16th Street from Pride Avenue to Franklin Avenue this week and will continue on 16th Street and the side streets off of 16th Street next week. The customer service connections were completed on Richards Avenue, Pearlman Avenue and Henderson Avenue this week and the service connections on the 18th Street were completed from Pride Avenue to Henderson Avenue. The 18th Street service connections will continue next week towards Pearlman Avenue. The new main water line on Pride Avenue and Barnes Avenue between 16th Street and 17th Street was installed this week and the new main line will begin on 17th Street between Hamill Avenue and Pride Avenue next week. The contractor will continue making concrete sidewalk repairs next week too.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


North 16th Street will be closed in sections for paving this week Monday-Tuesday. 18th Street between Henderson Avenue and Pearlman Avenue will be closed in sections. 17th Street will be closed in blocks between Hamill Avenue and Pride Avenue this week.


Fire and EMS access in North View should not be affected this week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor continued making concrete repairs this week in the Hartland area and those will continue next week. The contractor completed the directional bore portion of the new water line in the easement area between the houses on Johns Avenue and Ryder Avenue this week and the new main water line was pulled into the bore hole. This week the contractor will be working in the alley between Ryder Avenue and Waverly Way and on Waverly Way between Temple Terrace and Coolidge Street.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


Waverly Way between Temple Terrace and Coolidge Street will be one lane for new main installation starting next week.


Fire and EMS access to the Upper Hartland area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor has completed the new main water line and services on the project and placed asphalt patch. The final milling and paving are scheduled for next spring when the weather allows.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor completed the asphalt trench repairs on West Main Street between 2nd Street and EB Saunders Way, 2nd Street between Main Street and Pike Street and Monticello Avenue. The new water line installation started on West Pike Street at the intersection by Wendy’s this week and will continue towards the Wye in the coming weeks.


The area near Wendy’s and Subway will be one lane this week.


Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor continued the installation of the new sanitary sewer and storm system along Chestnut Street from West Main Street to Washington Avenue this week and that work will be completed next week. Work will begin next week to install the new main storm system between Chestnut Street and 6th Street. The new sanitary service connections were completed on West Pike Street between Wendy’s and McDonalds this week and will continue next week towards Ferry Street.


Chestnut Street will be closed from West Main Street to Washington Avenue on Monday and Tuesday, 7 AM to 5 PM daily. West Pike Street will be one lane in the area from McDonalds to the Wye, Monday and Tuesday.


Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike Street and Main Street should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
