Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:

This is the update for the week of 8/18– 8/22 and the schedule for the week of 8/25.


NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING

The contractor completed the new main line on West Virginia Avenue from 16th Street to 17th Street. The contractor continued installing the new meter services along 14th Street and started the new water line on 13th between George Avenue and Goff Avenue. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 17th Street to Williams Avenue and across Williams Avenue to 16th Street. The contractor will continue installing new meter services along 14th Street and Hamill Avenue. The gravel trenches along 14th Street that have the new services installed will have the trenches paved next week.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work. Please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor on-site.


The contractor will have 17th from West Virginia Avenue to Williams Avenue restricted to one lane or closed completely with a detour in place, also 14th Street will have sections closed for new meter service connections and paving, Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 6 PM.


Fire and EMS access to 14th Street will be restricted this coming week.


HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES

The contractor continued installing the new main water line on Liberty Avenue and concreting the trench along Riverside Drive this week. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and to continue the new main water line on Liberty Avenue from Traction Street to Riverside Drive.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work. Please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor on-site.


The contractor will have Liberty Avenue restricted to one lane from Traction Street to Riverside Drive, except for local residents, this coming week from 7 AM to 6 PM.


Fire and EMS service to the Lower Hartland area should not be affected, though Liberty Avenue will be one lane between Reynolds Street and Riverside Drive. Flaggers are set up in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.


CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB

CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING

The contractor continued with the new 24” main water line on Kramer Drive. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue the new 24” main line on Kramer Drive.


NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work. Please find alternate parking during the posted work hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.


The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed in the middle, but it will be accessible from both ends, Monday to Thursday, during working hours. Residents will need to use an alternate route.


Fire and EMS service can access Kramer Drive from the North end of Chestnut Street.


DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB

CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES

The contractor completed customer service connections and main line tie-ins along East Main Street. The schedule for the upcoming week is to make asphalt trench repairs long East Main Street.


The contractor will have East Main Street from Wood Avenue to Marshall Street reduced to one lane this week.


Fire and EMS service should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.


DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB

CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING

The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Sumner Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the wye to Sumner Street.


West Main Street will remain one lane from Ferry Street to Chestnut Street; Sumner Street will remain closed, and West Pike will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonald's.


Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
