Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects: This is the update for the week of 5/12 – 5/16 and the schedule for the week of 5/19.
NORTH VIEW AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor started installing new water line on North Ohio Avenue near the entrance to the Notre Dame practice field. Work will continue next week down North Ohio Avenue to the entrance of the Harrison County Emergency Squad, where they will tie into the existing water line.
Access to the Clarksburg Fire Department and Harrison County Emergency Squad will be maintained and controlled by the flaggers onsite.
HARTLAND/STEALEY AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued working on installing the new 6” water line along lower Hartland Avenue. The new water line installation on Lower Hartland Avenue is completed and the tie in into the existing water line will be made on Monday, May 19th. The work schedule for the upcoming week is to complete the new 6” water line on Verdun Street to the corner of Magnolia Avenue and pressure test the new water line on Hartland Avenue and Verdun Street.
Fire and EMS service to the Verdun Street area should not be affected. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
ARMORY ROAD - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor has moved on to another project until the materials for the Chestnut Hills portion of the project arrive. It is anticipated that the materials will arrive sometime in late August to early September.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor continued installing the new customer service connections along East Pike Street from Brown Street to Charleston Avenue. Also, this week the permanent trench repairs were made in those areas, along with the area in front of Davis Weaver Funeral Home that was failing. The work schedule for next week will be to continue with customer service connections along East Pike Street from Joyce Street to Linden Avenue.
Fire and EMS service to the streets off East Pike Street could be affected this coming week. Only one street at a time will be impacted and flaggers will be on site to help with rerouting service.
DOWNTOWN AREA (NEAR WENDY'S) - CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system from O’Reilly Auto Parts towards McDonalds this week. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system along West Pike Street in that same area.
Fire and EMS service in the West End of Pike Street should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
