Weekly update from Bobby Tenney (Senior Project Representative) on the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) and Clarksburg Sanitary Board (CSB) Projects:
This is the update for the week of 9/15-9/19 and the schedule for the week of 9/22.
NORTH VIEW AREA – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 1 - BEAR CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new main line on 16th Street up to Pride Avenue and on Crislip Avenue from 14th Street to 16th Street. The contractor completed the new meter services on Williams Avenue from 16th Street to 17th Street and was working on the main line tie ins along 14th Street. The contractor plans to continue with the new line on 16th Street from Crislip Avenue towards NVAC Park and start the new water line on Franklin Avenue between 14th and 16th Streets.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have 16th Street closed from Pride Avenue to Franklin Avenue this coming week. Franklin Avenue will be closed from 14th Street to 16th Street.
Fire and EMS access to 16th Street will be restricted this coming week.
HARTLAND AND STEALEY AREAS – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 2 - DOSS ENTERPRISES
The contractor installed new meter services along Magnolia Avenue this week. The new main water line on Hartland Avenue above the bridge was installed past Charter Street towards Milford Street this week. The concrete sidewalk repairs in the areas completed were started this week and will continue until completed. The schedule for the upcoming week is to continue with customer service connections on Magnolia Avenue and Liberty Avenue. The new main water line will continue on Charter Street and South Alexander Avenue.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have South Alexander Avenue closed from Milford Street to Charter Street and Charter Street closed from Hartland Avenue to South Alexander Avenue this coming week.
Fire and EMS access to lower Hartland area should not be affected, though South Alexander Avenue will be closed between Milford Street and Hartland Avenue. Flaggers are setup in the work area to allow local traffic to enter and exit.
CHESTNUT HILLS (KRAMER DRIVE) – CWB
CONTRACT NO. 3 - D&M CONTRACTING
The contractor completed the new 24” main water line on the right of way above Kramer Drive, it was pressure tested and disinfected. The schedule for the upcoming week is to start installing customer services along Kramer Drive.
NO PARKING signs will be placed in the sections the contractor is planning to work, please find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If your vehicle is parked in the work zone, it will be towed to a safe location if you cannot be located. If you need access to your driveway, please speak to the contractor onsite.
The contractor will have Kramer Drive closed, but it will be accessible from each end.
Fire and EMS can access Kramer Drive from both ends.
DOWNTOWN AREA - CWB
CONTRACT NO. 4W - INDEPENDENT ENTERPRISES
The contractor made main line tie ins at Marshall/Main Street, Monticello/Main Street and South Maple/Main Street this week. The contractor will make the tie ins at Carr Avenue and Elm Street this coming week.
The contractor will have the East Main Street one lane from Carr Avenue to Elm Street this coming week.
Fire and EMS access should not be affected; traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
DOWNTOWN AREA (WEST END) – CSB
CONTRACT NO. 4S - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING
The contractor continued with the installation of the new sanitary sewer system along with the new storm system along West Main Street. Sumner Street will remain closed until the new line is laid. For the upcoming week, work will continue on the new sanitary sewer and storm system from Sumner Street towards Chestnut Street on West Main Street and on West Pike Street from the Wye to Sumner Street.
West Main Street will remain one lane from Ferry Street to Chestnut Street; Sumner Street will remain closed and West Pike will be one lane from Sumner Street to McDonalds.
Fire and EMS access on the West End of Pike and Main Streets should not be affected, though traffic may be congested at times.
